Daniel van Steenberghe

Dr. Van Steenberghe is professor ordinarius with the Faculty of Medicine at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, where he teaches human anatomy, medical ethics, and periodontal therapy. He holds the Prof. P-I Brånemark chair in osseointegration, honorary professor at the University de Los Andes in Chile. He is an honorary member of several societies. He is a co-member of the Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and of the Academy of Medicine of Cordoba in Argentina. He was president of several scientific bodies such as: European Association for Osseointegration, Dutch Society of Oral Biology, Belgian Society of Periodontology, and Oral Pathology & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. He is an associate editor of Clinical Oral Investigations and the Journal and of Oral Rehabilitation. Dr. Van Steenberghe has published more than 350 full papers in internationally journals, some 200 other papers and chapters, and co-authored 9 books.
