Beat Hammer
Dr. Hammer graduated with a his degrees in dental medicine and medicine in 1976 and 1980, respectively, at the Dental and Medical School, University of Zurich. He has held the following residencies: maxillofacial surgery under Prof. H. Obwegeser (Zurich, 1980-2); general surgery under Prof. H. Hamelmann (Kiel, 1982-5); maxillofacial surgery under Prof. B. Spiessl (Basel, 1986); plastic surgery under Prof. N. Lüscher (basel, 1987); and maxillofacial surgery under Prof. J. Prein (Basel, 1988). From 1988 to 2003, Dr. Hammer was a staff member with Maxillofacial Unit, University Hospital Basel. Since 2003, he has worked at the Cranio-Facial Center Hirslanden, Aarau, Switzerland. In 1989, he held fellowships in plastic surgery in Baltimore (with Prof. P. Manson) and in Toronto (with Dr. J. Gruss) and, in 1999, a craniofacial fellowship in Adelaide (with Prof. D. David). His areas of expertise are orbital, orthognatic, and skull base surgery.
