Dr Abid Faqir BDS MFDSRCSed MSC(medsci) graduated from the Glasgow Dental School before undertaking his fellowship in Edinburgh and a masters degree at Glasgow University.
He is a partner at Dentistry by Faqir and Friel as well as providing his expertise at the Niddrie Square Clinic. He has trained with the best all over the world and limits his practice to implants and the management of complex restorative cases having placed over 1500 implants. He has a particular interest in immediate loading and is the first surgeon outside London to carry out the NobelGuide™ Teeth-in-a-Hour™.
Dr Faqir has also recently been appointed as an advisor for the British Society of Implantology. He has also been appointed to the editorial board for the publication Implant Dentistry. He is part of a worldwide multicenter working group researching aspects of implantology. He was voted 47th most influential person in dentistry in 2007 .
He was also recently awarded first place at the Nobel Biocare World Tour™ in London presenting a NobelGuide™ 'teeth in an hour case study’. He has recently been granted a licensure as an implantologist in United Arab Emirates. He was recently voted best young dentist in Scotland. At the 2008 top 100 poll for influential dentists he was voted 37th most influential person. He is a trainer for NobelGuide™ and NobelActive™
