Gerry M. Raghoebar received his DDS and MD at the University of Groningen. In 1988 he qualified as oral and maxillofacial surgeon and became a staff member in the University Medical Center Groningen. He defended his PhD thesis in 1991. He is professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He is a fellow of the European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Current research efforts are focused on oral and maxillofacial implantology, bone augmentation techniques, and distraction osteogenesis. He published numerous papers and book chapters.
