Dr. Sim graduated from the University of Malaya in 1985 and obtained his MFGDP (UK) in 1997. He underwent his clinical attachment in oral implantology in University of Frankfurt and was awarded Certificate in Oral Implantology in 2001. He has served as part-time clinical supervisor and lecturer in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya.

He is a member of the teaching faculty for the oral implantology course organized jointly by the University of Malaya and University of Frankfurt. He is very actively involved in the promotion & development of aesthetic dentistry. In this respect, he is the Founder President of the Malaysian Association of Aesthetic Dentistry & also the President of the Asian Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry.

He has lectured and conducted hands-on courses & live demonstration on patients nationally and internationally on aesthetic & implant dentistry. He maintains a private group practice where the main focus of his work revolves around aesthetic dentistry and implantology.
