Dr. Paul C Salins

Dr. Salins received training in dentistry at the College of Dentistry at Manipal. He received Masters Degree, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1980. He holds FFDRCS Ireland and FDSRCS England having trained in Maxillofacial Surgery at various centers in the UK, Europe and USA. Also Post graduate Diploma in Medicine from Australia. His original contributions and publications encompass pathophysiology of syncope, skull base access, angiography and maxillofacial reconstruction. Recently his research focus is creating the paradigm for engineered strategy using kinematics for functional orofacial reconstruction, morphometrics for Orthomorphic corrections of facial deformities and oral cancer in India. He is the Director of the Oral and Craniofacial Surgery program at the Meenakshi University, Chennai. He is also the Medical Director of the Narayana Cancer Hospital and Mazumdar-Shaw Cancer research Center project at Bangalore which will be amongst the largest global cancer centers of excellence. He has done courses on art history at Cambridge University, philosophy and theology at UK and USA.

Dr. S M Balaji

Dr. S.M. Balaji is the first PhD in Maxillofacial Surgery, the Editor of the “Indian Journal of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery”, reviewer of the International Journal of OMFS for craniofacial surgery and author of the bestselling “Textbook on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.” An acclaimed speaker at National and International conferences, he has bagged the AOMSI’s “Dr. Ginwallah Trophy” twice and received several “Best Paper Awards” at World Congresses conducted at Zurich, Halifax, and Göteborg. He won the “Gold Medal” for best paper at the 4th Asian Conference on OMFS, Mumbai and “Modus Award of Merit – a cash award of 50,000 Yen” for the “Best Innovative Surgical Technique” at the 6th Asian Conference, Tokyo. He has many national and international publications in peer-reviewed journals, has edited two books on Craniofacial Distraction, has delivered the prestigious Dr. R. Ahmed Oration and has been selected for MCI’s Dr. B.C. Roy National award.

Dr. Sabita Ram

Dr. Sabita M. Ram, Prof. and Head of Dept. of Prosthodontics Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital, Nerul, Navi Mumbai has an overall teaching experience of 27 YEARS. She is the Dean of Faculty of the same institution. She was the first lady President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society. She has also been excaptain army dental corps. She has done her post graduation in Prosthodontics from Government Dental College & Hospital, Mumbai. She has published articles on different topics and as guest speaker spoken on varied subjects at national and international conferences. She has been in the forefront always to share her vast experience by organising workshops and courses on various subjects in prosthodontics for interns, post graduate students and staff to stay in touch with new technologies and techniques. Dr. Shripathi Rao

Dr. B.H. Sripathi Rao, a renowned Maxillofacial Surgeon did both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from College of Dental Surgery, K.M.C., Manipal and rose to the position of Head of the department in the same faculty. He joined Yenepoya Dental College in the year 1994 as Professor and Head of the Dept. of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and later in the year 1995 he took over as Principal of the Institution. He has more than 30 years of experience in teaching both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. He has many publications to his credit both in National and International Journals. He has also attended and participated both in National and International speciality conferences and delivered many guest lectures. He has undergone advanced surgical training in Implantology in Germany and Belgium. As a teacher he was twice awarded “The Best Teacher’s Award” and also honoured as distinguished alumni of Manipal academy of Higher Education. D.C.I. Co-ordinator for National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Presently he is the Executive Committee Member of Dental Council of India, New Delhi.

Has delivered many guest lectures on Implantology at various implant workshops and has given live surgical demonstration of implant placement. Has several scientific paper presentations to his credit both in India and United Kingdom and has articles published in various journals. Examiner for both undergraduates and post graduates in different universities in India. Examiner for the MFDS part-C Examination conducted by the Royal College of Glasgow.

Dr. Usha Mohan Das

Dr Usha Mohan Das has spoken on various subjects on various National and international Academic platforms with topics contributing to the sustained and progressive development of Dental education/Academics in the country. She is privileged to have been invited to almost every National convention and PG Convention in all the specialities of Dentistry, a rare honour . She has been the examiner for both B.D.S and M.D.S of several Universities in the Country. She has been paper setter for Post Graduation, DNB exams, state entrance examinations and she validates the answer keys at least a dozen Universities in India. She has several publications both in national and international journals. She also has contributed largely to one of the currently used resourceful textbooks in Pediatric Dentistry in the country.
