Dr. Geis-Gerstorfer received his Master Degree in Materials Science from the University of Erlangen (Germany) and his PhD (Physical and Theoretical Chemistry) from the University of Tuebingen (Germany). He holds the position of professor and head of the Department of Medical Materials and Technology at the Center of Dentistry, Oral Medicine, and Maxillofacial Surgery (University Hospital Tuebingen, Germany). He is engaged in the field of medical materials and technologies, both in research and education. Interdisciplinary cooperations focuses on the testing and development of biomaterials and technologies in particular, but also on interactions with the biological field. His spectrum covers physico-chemical, biological and clinical aspects of materials, implants and technologies. Dr. Geis-Gerstorfer is a member of many professional organizations and has published many papers.
