Dr. Zhao graduated in 1983, and received his PhD in 1991 from Stomatological Faculty, Fourth Military Medical University. He is associate dean of the Stomatological College of Fourth Military Medical University, as well as a professor and director dentist in the Department of Prosthodontics in the same college. He served successively as lecturer, associate professor, and director dentist and professor, PhD tutor in the Department of Prosthodontics. From 1998 to1999, he served as a special researcher worked in the first department of prosthodontics, dental school, Aichi Gakuin University, Japan; and, from 2002 to 2003, he was a visiting professor at the Department of Advanced Prosthodontics, California University Los Angeles, School of Dentistry.
He is a senator of the International Maxillofacial Restoration Society; General-secretary of the International Cooperative Project in Magnetic Retentive Technique; vice chairman of Chinese Prosthodontic Society; vice chairman of International Dental Computer Association Chinese Branch; and vice chief editor of three stomatological journals. In 2007, Dr Zhao was promoted to major general and in 2008; he was elected as a committee member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Dr. Zhao was promoted as major general in 2007 and was elected as a member of the national committee of CPPCC in 2008.
