Dr. Vanooteghem earned his dental degree from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven’s Dental School in Leuven, Belgium in 1981. In 1984, he received his Master of Science degree in Periodontics from Loma Linda University. He then took a full-time position as assistant professor at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. Dr. Vanooteghem’s commitment to education is evident by his involvement in both teaching and learning. He is the founder and director of the Silicon Valley Study Group, a “think tank” of dentists determined to elevate the level of dentistry in their community. Dr. Vanooteghem lectures on the prevention of disease around dental implants. He has been a leader in implementing computer-guided implant placement in his community. He is the Northern California trainer for the NobelGuide™ implant placement technique. Dr. Vanooteghem has been practicing periodontics and implant dentistry in Sunnyvale California since 1986.
