Dr. Mericske-Stern is currently the Director and Chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics, University of Bern. She completed her graduate training in Restorative Dentistry and in Prosthodontics in Bern and Toronto, and in Oral Surgery in Basle. She received her PhD in Bern. She is still a frequent guest professor at the University of Toronto. She is a Specialist in Prosthodontics (SSRD) and in Implantology (SGI) and frequently lectures at international meetings on these topics. She is a member of various national and international societies; board member and president elect of the International College of Prosthodontics (ICP) the President of the Scientific Committee of the Swiss Society for Reconstructive Dentistry (SSRD); and president elect of the Swiss Society of Oral Implantology (SSOI). Her activities, both in clinical practice and clinical research, cover the field of oral implantology/implant prosthodontics and geriatric dentistry. These are represented in various publications, abstracts and book chapters.
